Welcome to...

My Background
(a brief introduction)
I was an experienced guitarist/vocalist currently
residing in Linlithgow Bridge, West Lothian, Scotland having been born in
Kirkcaldy, Fife
on October 3rd 1956. My primary instruments are vocals and guitar and I am self taught, having
been originally taught the trumpet at school.
I have gigged around Scotland
as a solo performer (guitar/vocals) where I performed a selection of covers,
alongside
a substantial amount of self penned original material. I also toured
Europe on two occasions, having played in Holland,
Denmark and Greece, and have had my compositions played on both local
radio (Radio Forth, Radio Borders, Scot FM and Central FM) as well
as
national radio (Radio 1 on The Friday Rock Show!) and played support to ASWAD - (remember them!?)

Both my wife and I regularly visit the absolutely
paradisiacal island of Symi in Greece (23 miles North of Rhodes). This is
the location
where the photos below were taken, and the inspiration for both my song Symi
Wind (a song that I feel will strike a chord on the heart
strings of every person who loves the island!).
I would like to express my deepest love to my darling wife Linda for introducing me to such an idyllic and wonderful place as Symi (a very special place for us).
I re-embarked on a project I initially said I would do on my first visit to Symi in 1997, the writing of an album of conceptual songs about the island, although I have again put this on the backburner due to alternative heavy commitments with other album projects!!! It has a working title "All Her Glory" (although this may, and probably will, change by the release date
).
The reason for the delay is primarily down to my repeated attempts to organise a performance at the Symi Festival (to give something back to the island that has provided Linda and I with so much joy) and the town hall's unwillingness to allow this to happen. You can follow me on this journey (as well as all the other things I am doing) via the monthly diary updates (and archives). As you can appreciate, there is a mass of work involved, although if the muse is not happening, it can't be forced!! I still relish the challenge and the thought of a refreshing Mythos at Pachos or Yannis or Lefteris is almost all the encouragement needed, excepting the potential festival performance itself, although I have all-but given up on that ever happening!
Added to this is the fact that both
my wife and I have found the other island of Paxos and this has taken our interest in favour of Symi for the moment!
Who knows what the future holds?
I have already posted some samples of the new "All Her Glory" project for you to check out on the sounds page and hope that they result in the whetting your appetite for the finished product! I only hope that they will evoke in you our common bond of shared love for that magical Dodecanese isle that is Symi.
(To see more about the paradise island of Symi check out www.symi.gr (which is the official site), www.symivisitor.com,

I extend my warmest love all my friends (past and
present), including family and all the friends, both Symiot and otherwise
that we have met on our many visits
to Symi paradise, they being seriously, too many to mention, although
just a few are...... Taxis, Eva ,Rula & Ike (Taxiarchis Apartments),

Taverna - our regular eating haunt!!), with his supporting staff of
Giorgio (the waiter and taxi-boat conductor!!) and Damiana, Yannis (the butcher of the upper town), Yannis (Rainbow), Lefteris and family (Cafenion), Wendy (Symi Visitor), Irene,Michailis &
Family (St Nicholas Taverna), Nicoletta, Makis and the Triton crew,

The intention of my site is to give you a general flavour
of what I do as a musician via my biography,
coupled with some technical info about my equipment
etc.,
as well as examples of lyrics,
and all this fully supported by some of the many images
that I have accrued over many, many years!!!.
I also have some examples of my sounds available for you to listen to and purchase!!
After a long period of non-maintenance of the site I am now trying to discipline myself to keep things fully up to date!
I am really excited at present as I have become involved in a whole host of internet collaborative projects. The first is the great internet band AINT TV made up of five musicians comprising Nick - guitar/mixing (America), Mark - guitar/lyrics (America), Dave - Bass Guitar (England), Steve J. - Keyboards (Canada) and myself - Vocals/Lyrics (Scotland).
I have also written a series of lyrics and recorded vocals for another guitarist/writer from the States called Rob Wood, who's music is also wonderful. I don't have a relevant web address for this yet, but will keep you posted.
I am currently working in partnership with both the dynamic, multi-talented and remarkable keys player Stephen Rivera from Florida and amazing bass player Rod Chappell under the band name COSMIC SINGULARITY. This is serious progressive rock and we are currently writing and recording an album that we hope you will like!
Go and buy the Musician's Collaboration CD at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=258865345&s=143444 that heavily features both my vocal and lyrical work.........go help the cause my friends.
I have also been asked if I would be interested in being the vocalist on a Led Zeppelin covers tribute album through the Collaboration Central site that will be a gas. More to follow!
