SYMI WIND
(McAndrew)

eyes straining Northwards to the jewel of the aegean sea
itchy feet longing to step once more on the isle where time runs free
via Panormitis or straight to the 'new town' shore
the smell of the herbs, the donkey's call, oh to be caressed once more

(by the) SYMI WIND

bobbing like a cork at midnight on the waves of sesklia sound
contemplating the depths of all the friendships we have found
phosphor sparks fly from the bow and sparkle in the wake
"parakalo", "ena ouzo my friend", and "yamas" for old times sake

(and the) SYMI WIND

we hope she staves off time's changing hours
though any friend of symi's will be a friend of ours
will be a true friend of ours

(and that) SYMI WIND

we climb the kali strata to our rooms on chorio hill
the yialos waves crash wildly, while the pedi waves lie still
conversations with well-etched faces, toothless grins and symi wine
this love will last forever, will stand the test of time

(fueled by the) SYMI WIND

Comment:- This is a straightforward song about the island of Symi in greece. I feel it captures a sentiment that all holidaymakers experience as they once more return to that smell of wild thyme, oregano and sage, frequently interrupted by yet another bottle of Mythos!!
